What You Will See:

A fully restored two story rural schoolhouse built for African Americans in 1867 that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is complete with a fully furnished classroom, displays and artifacts.

Hours of Operation

Hosanna School Museum is open Monday, Friday and Saturday from April 1st- September 30th, 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from October 1st-March 30th, 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

Holiday Hours

Please note that Hosanna will close on the following holidays in 2017:

  • Good Friday/Maryland Day (April 14th)
  • Holy Saturday (April 15th)
  • Memorial Day (May 29th)
  • Independence Day (Observed, Monday, July 3rd)
  • Labor Day (Sept 4)
  • Thanksgiving Day (November 23rd and 24th)
  • Christmas  Eve and Day (Observed Friday, December 22 and Saturday, December 23)
  • New Years Day 2018 (Observed Saturday, December 30th)

Inclement Weather Policy

In general, Hosanna will be closed on the same days that the Harford County Public School system closes, including weekend closure days. If inclement weather causes an event to be cancelled or re-scheduled, we will post this on the home page of the website.

Tours Available Upon Request 


Hosanna School Museum is about thirty yards from Castleton Road, adjacent to a narrow driveway. Parking is available at at the museum and overflow parking is available at Hosanna A.M.E. Church which is near the road. Additional parking is available in the unpaved lot across the street from Hosanna A.M.E. Church.
