About the Event
Renowned storyteller, Debra Mims will perform “My Grandmother Told Me” as Grandma Sally Kathryn. With lessons for living, this is a tribute to African American women from slavery to the present.
Between February and June, Hosanna will feature leading storytellers from the region to share relevant stories inspired by the African American experience in a Sestercentennial Storytelling Series that will be presented monthly. The Series will feature one storyteller per month and culminate in the final performances at our Upper Bay Juneteenth Festival 2023.
