FAQs
Juneteenth, celebrated annually on June 19th, commemorates the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of freedom delayed, resilience, and the ongoing journey toward justice and equity. At Hosanna School Museum, Juneteenth Freedom Weekend is a time to honor history, celebrate family, and gather in community.
